- Resume Styles
- Chronological Resume - is laid out in reverse chronological order going back several years. This is the most common resume style. The main purpose of a chronological resume is to build credibility through experience gained while illustrating your career progression.
- Functional Resume - is laid out by skill area or job function. The main purpose of this resume style is to emphasize specific professional capabilities and will use short summaries to communicate professional and job related competencies. This may be a good style for those making a career change or those with limited or unrelated work experience.
- Combination Resume - is laid out with a balance of chronological and functional approaches. This style tends to become repetitive and therefore is the least common of the three styles.
