Upscale, Saint Paul Cathedral Hill area, Deli by Day and Seasonal Bistro by night is actively seeking a full time experienced restaurant manager. The ideal candidate will be someone who can thrive in a fast paced restaurant environment and exhibits solid skills in daily business operations, staff management, customer relations and overall hospitality management.

The right person will be a solid multitasker, a restaurant systems expert, with high attention to detail. They will have the ability to train and motivate, discipline, and recruit top notch front of the house staff.

Job Summary:

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for front of house staff management, overall business performance as well as maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety. This individual will combine strategic planning, shift pattern organization, day-to-day management activities, marketing, and business development.

Tasks and Duties: 

  • Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the              workers and resources of the restaurant 
  • Work with chefs and other personnel to plan menus that are flavorful and popular 
  • Estimate food and beverage costs, supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste, and perform frequent checks to ensure consistent high quality of preparation and service 
  • Supervise operation of selling wine and beer to maximize profitability, minimize legal liability, and conform to alcoholic beverage regulations
  • Direct hiring, training, and scheduling of food service personnel 
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service 
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and general cleanliness 
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Review and monitor, with bookkeeper or other financial personnel, expenditures to ensure that they conform to budget limitations. Work to improve performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable (A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternate) 
  • Strong business background, managing budgets, and understanding of how to run a business 
  • Strong organizational skills for dealing with diverse duties and staff 
  • Professional appearance, pleasant, and polite manner for dealing with public as well as staff 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Business development and sales experience is a plus

Description: Individuals who apply for this position must have a sense of calmness and be willing to work with adults with behavioral issues such as verbal aggressions, who may be diagnosed with autism, diabetes, medical needs, or persons who may require assistance with ADLs.   

Duties: Direct Care Professionals are essential members of our team whose mission is to provide the highest quality of residential services for persons with developmental disabilities and/or traumatic brain injuries. Provide direct care for assigned clients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to the client's treatment.

The daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

*  Administering medications                                                       
*  Transporting clients to medical appointments 
*  Accompanying clients to activities or out in the community 
*  Assisting clients with cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. 
*  Doing personal cares such as toileting, grooming, or bathing 
*  Ability to assist in lifting clients and equipment 
*  Modeling appropriate behavior at all times 
*  Ensuring safety and happiness of our clients 
*  Assisting our clients in reaching their goals 
*  Ability to provide coverage at area facilities as required

Qualifications:

*  High School Diploma or the equivalent (G.E.D.) 
*  Background Clearance as required by BCA, DHS, and DMV 
*  Valid driver’s license, clean driving record                                *  Insured, r
eliable vehicle for use at each shift 
*  Successfully complete training courses within the first 60 days 
    of employment                                                                          *  Successfully complete CPR and First Aid Certifications 
*  Good communication and customer service skills needed 
*  Ability to read and write in English 
*  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide 
*  Previous direct care experience preferred, but not required
